About SEATTLE KingCounty REALTORS^®

REALTORS^® is a trade organization whose primary members are licensed real estate professionals and does business as the . As a member of  "SKCR", each REALTOR^® also belongs to the Washington Association of REALTORS^® and the National Association of REALTORS^®.

There are over 8,500 members of SKCAR, 24,000+ members of WAR and 1.3 million+ members of NAR.

Membership in SKCAR is voluntary and is open to active real estate licensees in the state of Washington. In addition 100+ companies, which offer services to real estate practitioners, are affiliate members of SKCAR. These members may take advantage of many of the programs and services offered to REALTOR^® members.

All REALTORS^® subscribe to and uphold a strict Code of Ethics that governs their business behavior in all real estate transactions. 

The term "REALTOR^®" is a licensed collective trademark which may be used only by members of the National Association of REALTORS® and its local associations.

SKCR Governance...

SKCR is governed by an elected Board of Directors, the majority of whom are REALTORS^®. Programs are managed by core committees, comprised of  REALTOR^® and affiliate members.

SEATTLE KingCounty REALTORS® was established in the state of Washington in 1908 and was one of the 19 charter members of the National Association of REALTORS^®.

SKCR was granted tax-exempt, non-profit 501c(6) status by the U.S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service in March 1928 and has since been verified as remaining in effect as of July 1988 from the Los Angeles office of the Department of the Treasury. SKCAR originally filed Articles of Incorporation (non-profit corporate status) with the State of Washington in December 1924.  SKCAR also operates a 501c(3) Scholarship Foundation.
