Up-and-Coming Regional Leader: Redmond Mayor John Marchione

Redmond Mayor John Marchione is gaining new responsibilities and recognition as a regional leader.

He will be assuming the chairmanship of the Puget Sound Regional Council, which oversees regional transportation and land-use planning in central Puget Sound counties.  Marchione has been effective in managing his Council and with regards to land-use and residential supply, has been aggressive in creating zoned capacity in both Redmond’s traditional downtown and the Overlake Village neighborhood both of which will ultimately be served by sound transit.

Seattle King County REALTORS® is initiating discussions with regional planning organizations such as the PSRC to discuss housing supply and improve policies to direct more housing supply where it’s needed the most, near fast-growing job centers.
