Packed house ponders appraisal issues
The Womens’ Council of REALTORS® packed the house at the Seattle King County REALTORS office to hear appraiser Allen Pope explain the ins and outs of today’s appraisal process. Nearly 100 members of the Seattle Metro Chapter of WCR attended the meeting on Friday, February 5 in Bellevue.
Residential appraiser Alan Pope talked about the best methods currently used for appraisal beyond the usual price per square foot calculation. He also touched on the lack of new condominiums in urban areas because of the liability issues related to construction in Washington and because investors find apartment rents more attractive at a time when rental rates are increasing rapidly.
“Members of the Womens’ Council find real value in meeting and sharing ideas on today’s market,” said Chapter President Nanette Bergdahl, RE/MAX Northwest. “Our group is energized for the coming year. We appreciate the Association making their space available to us each month.”
The Seattle Metro Chapter of WCR meets the first Friday of every month at the Bellevue office of Seattle King County REALTORS. Those interested in membership with WCR should email WCRSeattlemembership@gmail.com.
