REALTORS® respond to requests for school funding support
On February 2, volunteers with Seattle King County REALTORS® listened to presentations from both the Issaquah and Lake Washington School Districts on plans for their upcoming supplemental school funding measures on the April 2016 ballot.
Over 30 members of our Government Affairs committee evaluated the merits of each proposal and voted to publicly endorse the ballot measures. Requests to review the school district plans came from REALTOR® members who live and conduct business in these school districts. “After hearing about the bond measure proposal from the Lake Washington School District, I felt compelled to bring it to the attention of our board,” said Lynn Sanborn, Windermere Yarrow Bay. “With the huge growth occurring throughout King County, it makes sense for us to increase schools’ capacities. As a REALTOR®, I appreciate the support the Association gives to our schools.”
“We review all proposals that are brought to us by members,” said Shane Davies, VP of Government Affairs and owner of Windermere Maple Valley. “Good schools are important to our kids and important to our communities. Seattle King County REALTORS® has a history of supporting well planned school funding requests.”
The school measures will be placed on the April 26 ballot. Seattle King County REALTORS encourages members to vote and support passage of these school measures.
