Dirt Alert – Soil contamination discussion continues
Representatives from Seattle King County REALTORS® met with representatives from the Department of Ecology (DOE) and King County Public Health (KCPH) yesterday to discuss strategies for improving the public’s understanding of potential health issues associated with arsenic and lead contamination of soils from the former Tacoma copper smelter plume. The DOE has a website explaining possible health risks which may vary from northern Seattle southward to Thurston County based on location, contamination levels, remediation efforts, and a person’s age (with young children in highly contaminated areas at greatest risk). You can find helpful resources and information for you and your clients here.
