Meet Kia: Front Desk & Education Coordinator
Kia Gill is our new Front Desk & Education Coordinator. If you haven’t had the chance to meet her in person or speak with her over the phone, make sure to introduce yourself when you get a chance. She is a great resource for members and can help you get signed up for classes, events, or answer general questions about the Association.
How long have you been at SKCR?
I’m just finishing my fourth week here.
What interested you about working with REALTORS or just in the job itself?
There were so many interesting and different variables that were listed along with the position. I honestly thought it would be a great opportunity because it’s not your average admin position. I really wanted to work for a well-rounded and diverse association and now I do!
What’s been the most challenging aspect of this job so far?
I would say it’s some of the real estate lingo… knowing the difference between a managing broker and a designated broker, that kind of thing. I’m picking it up fast though!
Kia took a call in the middle of our interview, answering the phone with a cheery disposition and effortlessly helping a member to register for an upcoming event. Kia’s professionalism shines through which is especially impressive given it is only her fourth week at the Association.
What’s been the most rewarding aspect of this job so far?
Meeting all the members! There are so many faces that come in and out of the office and it’s awesome to drive by a listing sign and to see someone’s name or picture and then to meet them in person. It’s pretty cool and truly great to meet so many new people.
What is your favorite hobby?
PARTY PLANNING! I do it on the weekends. You can check it out on my Facebook Business page: Crafty Lady Kia. I make cake pops, tutus, earrings, cupcakes… etc. I even make candles! I also do a custom t-shirt line for my 6 year-old daughter, Mai’ana.
What is something our members may be surprised to learn about you?
I have an Uncle who played in the NBA. He played for several teams including the Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks.
What’s better, chocolate or cheese?
Cheese!
If you could travel anywhere in the world for 2 weeks, where would it be?
Dubai or Croatia. They have the most beautiful beaches; the true definition of relaxation. Also, I’d love to go shopping in Dubai.
