REALTOR® leaders gather in Bellevue for advocacy conference

Margo Willis, 2017 President of the Washington REALTORS®, welcomed local association leaders from around the state to a special advocacy reception on October 19 in Bellevue. Members of the Asian Real Estate Association of America in greater Seattle and the leaders of the Young Professional Network of King County also participated in a program that emphasized working together on important real estate issues.

The guests heard from State Senator Mark Mullet (D-5th), a small business owner who talked about the influence that real estate professionals can have on public policy by staying involved in their communities and working with legislators for practical solutions. Senator Mullet stressed the need for solving the statewide school funding issue (McCleary decision), but opposes the adoption of state capital gains tax to bridge the funding shortfall. Dan Shih, candidate for state representative in the 43rd District was also in attendance.
