Seattle King County REALTORS® stand out in Washington
REALTORS® in Seattle King County won four of the six annual awards presented by Washington REALTORS® at its annual spring conference in Suncadia. These awards recognize the achievements and contributions of REALTORS® from throughout Washington who support communities, homeownership, and the REALTOR® Organization.
Tyler McKenzie, broker owner of John L. Scott West Seattle, won the REALTOR® of the Year award, the highest tribute the Washington Association of REALTORS® bestows upon its members. The REALTOR® of the Year demonstrates the “REALTOR® Spirit”, a faithfulness to the principles of the REALTOR® organization, professionalism, and the Code of Ethics. Tyler McKenzie was recognized for his significant contributions to the national, state, and local REALTOR® organizations. He has served as Seattle King County’s 2015 President, the 2017 Vice President of Membership at Washington REALTORS® and serves on the Board of the National Association of REALTORS® as a Director from King County. In recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities, Tyler was accepted into the 2016 class of the NAR Leadership Academy and completed the program this past fall.
Rich Bergdahl, broker with REMAX Northwest and a licensed real estate attorney, received the REALTOR® Achievement award. This year, Rich was named the Vice Chair of NAR’s Amicus Brief Advisory Board, which reviews real estate cases of national significance. He serves on the national Legal Action Committee, the RPAC Participation Council, and the WR Legal Affairs Committee. Rich has been an active member of the Seattle King County REALTORS® Government Affairs Committee for fifteen years and currently serves on its Board of Directors.
Jed Etters, broker with John L Scott Lake Union, received the “Eddy” Award, which symbolizes the importance of quality education by promoting REALTOR® professionalism at the local, state or national level. Jed received the award for his work in the creation of the innovative Real Estate Game Works program. Jed co-founded and produced this revolutionary program that combines the fun and interactive world of video games with real estate continuing education. This program will be available to REALTORS® throughout the country and offers a unique approach to education.
Laura Roth, broker owner of REMAX Choice Executives, won the REALTOR® Community Service Award for her outstanding contributions to the local community. As President of the Covington Kiwanis club, she helps raise money to support the local food banks, provides books to the local Headstart program, and raises funds for the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program. Laura is an Ambassador for Vine Maple Place, an Independent nonprofit charity that serves homeless children and their families, and is the Co-Founder and current President of Mighty Miracles a 501(c)3, which raises money for the Children’s Miracle Network.
