Redfin joins Seattle King County REALTORS®

Nearly 500 Redfin brokers in the Seattle area have joined the ranks of the REALTOR® association. Redfin has operated in the Puget Sound market for many years and maintains its corporate headquarters in Seattle. Redfin offices in the state of Washington now join over 1.2 million real estate professionals nationwide as members of the National Association of REALTORS®. NAR members are involved in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate.

“We believe the industry, profession, and opportunities for homeowners are stronger when brokerages and agents cooperate through the REALTOR® association,” said Sam DeBord, 2017 President of Seattle King County REALTORS®. DeBord, an NAR Director and Vice President of Strategic Growth with Coldwell Banker Danforth, recently worked with brokerages around the country including Redfin to adopt policies that create greater access to MLS membership and listing data for private and public use. “We’re excited that Redfin will be part of our advocacy efforts in Washington,” said DeBord.

Seattle King County REALTORS® works on behalf of our over 7,000 REALTORS® and Affiliates at home, in Olympia, and nationally, advocating on issues that affect the real estate business and supporting strong communities where homeownership is accessible and affordable. REALTORS® are involved members of their communities and work to maintain high standards of professional conduct.

“Redfin is thrilled to join the King County REALTOR® Association and show our support of the National Association of REALTORS®,” said Chelsea Goyer, Vice President of Recruiting, Partner Program and MLS Relations at Redfin. “We look forward to collaborating with our partners to advance our industry and make real estate better for consumers.”

It didn’t take long for some Redfin brokers to jump into REALTOR® activities. Christie Cottle (left), Joe Sheldon (back), and Tracy Salisbury (right) joined 500 REALTOR® colleagues from around the state in Olympia, on a day when the legislature passed a bill fixing the Hirst decision and restored water rights to rural property owners. They are pictured here at the Capitol with broker and Real Estate Commissioner Kyoko Matsumoto Wright (front).

Seattle King County REALTORS® wishes a warm welcome to Redfin and all our new members. We encourage all members to check out our Calendar for upcoming classes, meetings, and events, and to visit our Resources page to take advantage of the tools available to you as a REALTOR®.
