National Leaders Spotlight: Sam DeBord
The National Association of REALTORS® has appointed Sam DeBord, broker with Coldwell Banker Danforth, as Vice Chair of the 2018 Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee. DeBord will also serve as a member of the 2018 MLS Technology and Emerging Issues Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors for the National Association of REALTORS®.
The Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning issues and policies related to the operation of board-owned and operated multiple listing services. The MLS Technology and Emerging Issues Advisory Board anticipates, identifies, and analyzes issues and trends related to cooperative real estate transactions facilitated by real estate professionals, with special emphasis on those brought about through MLSs.
“Working as a volunteer, committee member, and leader at NAR has had a huge impact on my knowledge of the industry,” said DeBord. “REALTORS® have to get out of their own market to understand the differences in business models, regulatory environments, and practices that exist across the country. Working with leaders at NAR exposes you to so much more that can give you insights and ideas as to how you can improve your own business, and your local association. Add to that the many friends and business associates you’ll bring to your network, and it’s an invaluable experience.”
DeBord served as the 2017 President for Seattle King Country REALTORS® and received the 2017 SKCR REALTOR® of the Year Award. The award recognizes outstanding achievement at the local, state, and national levels of the Association. He is also the 2018 Vice President-Elect of Government Affairs for Washington REALTORS®.
Thank you for your leadership!
