National Leaders Spotlight: Michael Orbino

Michael Orbino, broker with Avenue Properties, has been appointed to the 2018 REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Committee of the National Association of REALTORS®. He also served as the 2017 VP of Governmental and Public Affairs for Seattle King County REALTORS®.

The REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Committee encourages grassroots member participation by creating and implementing strategies that support the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and its three main components – vote, act, and invest.

Orbino has been actively involved in REALTOR® leadership at the local, state, and national levels for over a decade. He volunteers because he believes it’s important to give back to your industry and work to make it better. “A lot of people have done this work to get us to where we are, so I feel a responsibility to pick up the load and carry it forward,” said Orbino. “A friend and mentor early on in my career told me that it’s important to show ‘commitment to your trade,’ and I’ve never forgotten that. Actively participating in the REALTOR® organization is one of the ways I feel like I’ve contributed.”

Another motivator to be involved for Orbino is the relationships you develop along the way. “Selfishly, I enjoy learning and working with other committed professionals,” he said.

Orbino also encourages new and emerging leaders to get involved. “There is always much more work to be done, and I am excited about the next batch of professionals who want to show their commitment to their trade by stepping up with their own new ideas and energy. We need them to step up and carry on the fight forward for all of us and our industry.”

Thank you for your leadership!
