Seattle King County REALTORS® is saddened to announce the passing of 1982 President Joe Wilson in March. He was 86 years old.

Wilson began his real estate career in 1960 and took over as owner of Marymoor Realty in Redmond in 1964, where he stayed for the rest of his career. During his tenure as King County President, the Board moved its office to Eastlake Avenue in Seattle, where it remained for nearly a decade before relocating to Kirkland.

In addition to serving as Seattle King County REALTORS® President, Wilson was elected president of Washington REALTORS® in 1987 and served on multiple committees for the National Association of REALTORS®, including the Coalition Building, Congressional Liaison, and Land Use Committees.

Throughout his career, Wilson served on numerous other boards and committees that worked to develop land use rules, protect the real estate industry, and better the community. He was a founding member of the Hollywood Hill area’s neighborhood protective association and served on the Redmond Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Committee.

Wilson will be remembered as an active and admired member of his community.
