REALTORS® receive recognition – and pass it on – with Own It Coins
Owning It is NAR President Elizabeth Mendenhall’s mantra this year: when REALTORS® take ownership of their associations, they bring unique gifts and insights to the table and make positive change as the REALTOR® organization evolves. To spread the Own It mentality and recognize REALTORS® that have shown commitment to service, the NAR leadership team launched Own It Coins that are meant to be passed on from REALTOR® to REALTOR®.
Long-time REALTOR® Van Anderson recently received an Own It Coin for her dedicated service to the association. Van, a past president of Seattle King County REALTORS®, has been an active member of the association for over 50 years. Her range of involvement includes service on the Board of the National Association of REALTORS®, a term on the Washington Real Estate Commission and many years of service on the state’s Boundary Review Board.
Keeping with the spirit of the Own It Coin, Van passed hers along to a new owner, Terry Miller, at the last Seattle King County REALTORS® Government Affairs Committee meeting. Terry is a past officer of the Washington REALTORS® and currently represents her company on the NAR Board of Directors. Terry was named Seattle King County’s REALTOR® of the Year in 2008.
Thank you to Van and Terry for their service to the association. To learn more about Own It Coins, visit nar.realtor/gratitude.
