Help make affordable homeownership the key issue at REALTOR® Hill Day

Do you want a say in how legislators in Olympia treat issues that affect your business and the housing supply crisis?

Join REALTORS® from across the state at Washington REALTORS® Legislative Hill Day on January 24. REALTORS® spend the morning preparing, then head to the Hill during the afternoon for meetings with state senators and representatives. REALTORS® scored a big win last year when the Legislature passed a Hirst fix bill in the final hours of Hill Day. The bill reversed the state Supreme Court decision that blocked landowners from legally obtaining water. The legislation clarified landowner rights to obtain water permits and build homes on their land.

This year, affordable homeownership opportunities is the theme that ties REALTOR® advocacy together. Things have started looking a bit easier for buyers around here, but Washington state and especially King County do not have nearly enough housing for everyone who wishes to own a home. Stay tuned for the full Hill Day legislative agenda, which provides more details on key messages and talking points to share with legislators.

Registration for Hill Day is free for first-time attendees. Seattle King County REALTORS® members can ride the free bus to Olympia and back courtesy of Centennial Home Inspection Services.
