Post-Superbowl, are we entering an up market? YPN thinks yes

The Superbowl is widely considered the start of the spring housing market – so even a game as boring as this year’s may indicate an exciting spring start. After a slight cooldown at the end of last year, members of the Seattle King County REALTORS® Young Professionals Network see signs that it’s going to be a busy spring.

“Buyers are out there watching,” said Garrett Nelson, broker with Executive Real Estate, Inc. “I’ve seen listings lately that have been on the market for 60 days or more get multiple offers following even a small price drop.”

The Northwest Multiple Listing Service (NWMLS) reports that improving inventory, attractive interest rates and more approachable sellers are bringing buyers back to the market.

“While it might not be like the last few spring markets, a little expectation management has gone a long way with my clients,” said SKCR VP of Business Practices and Compass broker Jenn Mueller. “The feeling out there is that folks are ready to go.”
