Over $225,000 invested by King County RPAC Hall-of-Famers

The National Association of REALTORS® political action committee (RPAC) consistently ranks among the most well-funded PACs that contribute to federal candidates, thanks to the investments of its REALTOR® members. According to Thoughtco.com, “RPAC enables REALTORS® to support candidates that support the issues that are important to their profession and livelihood.” RPAC is bipartisan, splitting its support to Republican and Democrat candidates almost evenly.

In 2004, Lennox Scott of John L. Scott Real Estate became the first REALTOR® in Washington state to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for the National Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee. The Hall of Fame recognizes dedicated members who have made a significant commitment to the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) over the years by investing an aggregate lifetime amount of at least $25,000.

“I invest in RPAC because this is our industry. Contributing to our industry is about making sure that our clients have the rights and opportunities to homeownership,” said Scott, who will be honored again this year for reaching $100,000 lifetime support to RPAC during the May REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo. “Being involved with RPAC is about building strong communities and therefore a strong nation.”

Russ Hokanson, CEO of the Seattle King County REALTORS®, will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame during this year’s NAR meeting in Washington, DC. “I began investing in RPAC my first month on the job 25 years ago. It’s important for leaders to walk the talk when it comes to supporting our advocacy efforts,” said Hokanson. “Every REALTOR® should make investing in RPAC a habit.”

Other Seattle King County REALTOR® members who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame include:

  • 2008 – Keith Nelson, Executive Real Estate
  • 2009 – Daniel Kennedy, Coldwell Banker Bain
  • 2014 – Terry Miller, Coldwell Banker Bain
  • 2015 – Beverly Read, Windermere Real Estate
