Members can now take REALTOR® Ethics and get clock hours… for free!
Seattle King County REALTORS® is excited to offer our members a new benefit: free REALTOR® Code of Ethics courses, with three clock hours!
REALTORS® are required to complete the Code of Ethics training once every two years. Before, there were two options: take the ethics course for free, but receive no clock hours for it toward your real estate license; or, pay for the class and receive clock hours. This is the first time members will be able to meet the requirement and get clock hours at no cost.
The courses are taught by self-proclaimed “Code of Ethics geek” Mark Kitabayashi, who has been teaching REALTOR® ethics for seven years. “Mark is really engaging as an instructor, he shares great examples and makes the Code of Ethics much more fun than I was expecting,” said Jenn Mueller, SKCR VP of Business Practices and participant in the first day of free clock hour ethics. “I usually take my ethics requirement online, but I wanted to take advantage of this huge member benefit and get the in-person engagement with the instructor and other REALTORS®. Being face-to-face with other members is great because you hear different examples of ethics issues and things we’re experiencing in the market.”
The Code of Ethics is required every two years by the National Association of REALTORS® because it is a cornerstone of REALTOR® service. The Code of Ethics is a commitment to honesty, integrity and trust that gives REALTORS® the tools to provide the best experience possible for their clients.
