REALTORS® raise almost $30,000 for RPAC at festive auction
An enthusiastic crowd of REALTORS® and Affiliates gathered at the Bellevue Club yesterday for the annual REALTOR® Wine & Spirits Auction. The event, organized by RPAC Chair Dahni Malgarini-Logar, set a new record, raising $29,832 for RPAC.
The REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) uses voluntary investments from REALTORS® to support candidates who understand the importance of property ownership to our economy. RPAC is the only advocacy group in America that fights exclusively for your clients and your business.
“RPAC is important to me because of who we are,” said Rich Bergdahl, Seattle King County REALTORS® President and auctioneer with President-Elect Georgia Stevens. “We are a diverse group with a long history of being successful in protecting our business and our clients,” said Bergdahl.
State RPAC Chair Tom Hormel traveled from Spokane for the event. “This year is the 50th anniversary of RPAC. Fifty years ago, REALTORS® decided that they were tired of being told about legislation after the fact. They wanted to be part of the conversation, shaping legislation that affects our business as it happens,” said Hormel.
Thank you to Dahni, RPAC Trustee Beverly Read and our many volunteers who helped organize the event, and to everyone who donated auction items. And of course, thank you to all the members, Affiliates and friends who made the evening a success!
