2020 local President named NAR Vice Chair

Georgia Stevens, 2020 President of Seattle King County REALTORS®, has been appointed Vice Chair of the National Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN). This national position will give Georgia, a broker with Compass, the opportunity to use her leadership skills and experience to assist YPN networks across the country.

Georgia’s YPN experience goes back nearly a decade, when King County established its YPN network in 2009. During her tenure, the King County network was awarded NAR’s medium YPN Network of the Year Award in 2012. That early success with YPN helped launch her into other local, state and national leadership positions. She has served on the SKCR Board of Directors since 2011 and when asked to run for President-Elect two years ago, she willingly stepped forward.

In addition to her Board involvement, Georgia has been very active in Association government and legislative affairs, serving as Vice President in 2017. She also serves as the legislative key contact to Rep. Roger Goodman in the 45th district. Nationally, she was appointed by 2018 NAR President Elizabeth Mendenhall to the Governance Review Presidential Advisory Group (PAG). The Governance Review PAG improves Association decision-making with member needs in mind.

“YPN was the arrival point for my involvement with all things REALTOR®,” said Georgia. “Up until the YPN Leadership Retreat in Chicago, I had not connected with any younger REALTORS® like myself who were craving energy, leadership and professionalism. The excitement I felt about being around like-minded REALTORS® from all over the country gave me a new vision and direction for my business. I am proud to serve the Association and look forward to the upcoming year as Vice Chair with this incredible group of REALTORS®.”

Georgia is a second-generation REALTOR® who practiced for many years with her mother, Carole Wall. Carole also served on the local Board in 1998.
