REALTORS® raise over $45,000 for RPAC in online auction

REALTORS® and Affiliates put in their bids in the first ever online REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Auction and raised a total of $45,696.00 for RPAC. This represents a new record for Seattle King County REALTORS® since it initiated an auction to support RPAC 25 years ago. The online auction, organized by RPAC Chair Eddie Chang, was held on June 3 – 9 and featured wine, spirits, gift baskets, art, and fun experiences.

RPAC supports political candidates with campaign funding who have been endorsed by the Association of REALTORS® and who have demonstrated support and leadership of REALTOR® legislative issues. RPAC is the only advocacy group in America that fights exclusively for your clients and your business.

“This was the second RPAC Auction I have participated in,” said Jennifer Gilbert-Smith, Designated Broker & Office Leader at RE/MAX Leading Professionals. “I enjoy bidding on items for such a great cause, as RPAC gives us the opportunity to help elect pro-REALTOR® candidates.”

“At Windermere, we consider ourselves citizen-agents and a central part of the fabric of the community,” said Gina Madeya, Windermere Real Estate/East Inc. | Yarrow Bay. “Through RPAC, my voice and advocacy efforts help strengthen and improve the very fabric of the communities in which we live, work and serve.”

The impact of this fundraiser is important. Every state representative is up for election this year, as well as half the state’s senate seats. The need for candidates who support real estate will be especially important in the next legislative session as the Legislature discusses issues relating to taxation, housing supply, multi-family tax credits (MFTE), and tenant protections.

Thank you to RPAC Chair Eddie Chang, RPAC Trustees Beverly Read and Dahni Malgarini-Logar, and the RPAC Committee. Thank you to everyone who donated auction items and to all REALTOR® and Affiliate members who invest in RPAC!
