Steven Wayne, 2003 President of Association, passes suddenly

The Association is saddened and shocked by the untimely passing of Steven Wayne, a broker with Windermere Mount Baker in Seattle. Steven was the 2003 President of the Seattle King County REALTORS® and served the Association in many capacities for over 30 years. He held the status of Distinguished Life Member since 2011.

Steven began his real estate career in the mid 1980’s and soon became a volunteer leader with the Association. He was adept at political affairs and advocating for the industry at the local, state and national level in promoting home ownership. For many years Steven was the REALTOR® appointed Federal Political Coordinator for then Congressman Jim McDermott from Washington’s 7th Congressional District, responsible for building and maintaining a working relationship on federal issues. Steven was also appointed as a REALTOR® representative to the White House conference on small business in 1995.

Steven was named the Seattle King County REALTOR® of the Year in 2001 and received the Achievement Award in 1997. In addition to acting as President in 2003, Steven served on the Board of Directors for a number of years. He also served on the Board of the Washington REATORS® from 2003 to 2007.

Steven was a graduate of the University of Washington. He is survived by family in the area.

Sarah and Elise, Steven’s daughters, invited dear friends to share memories on July 10th at Central Park across from Steven’s home.
