$5,000 raised at Annual Charity Golf Tournament for Habitat for Humanity

Over 90 players and volunteers attended our fourth Annual Charity Golf Tournament hosted by Seattle King County REALTORS® on June 21 – our first in-person event since March 2020. This golf tournament featured 18 holes of fun, energetic hole sponsors, BBQ, and fun raffle prizes. A total of $5,000 in proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity – Seattle King County.

Members of our Affiliate Council dedicated a lot of their time to prepare for the Golf Tournament this year. They put together over 100 goodie bags for tournament attendees and volunteers, and assured that the event was a success! “I am happy to say that the SKCR Annual Charity Golf Tournament was a great success,” said Janet Matzke, 2021 Affiliate Director. “It was wonderful for folks to be able to get together in person after such a long hiatus. The weather was perfect, the course was in great shape and attendees were able to enjoy a well-paced day on the course. With the help of our VERY generous sponsors, golfers and guests, we were able to raise funds to contribute to Habitat for Humanity! I’d like to send a special thank you to the golf committee and SKCR staff for their extra efforts in helping us run a great tournament. Planning is already in the works for 2022 as we look forward to another signature REALTOR® event to support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity.”

In Seattle-King County and around the world, Habitat for Humanity brings people together as volunteers, homeowners, financial and material donors, and community members to create strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. In our community, Habitat for Humanity constructs affordable homes, repairs homes for low-income people and seniors, operates discount home improvement stores in Auburn, Bellevue and Southcenter, and mobilizes more than 4,300 volunteers a year.

It’s nice to see that folks in housing are supportive of us and we are excited to attend more events with SKCR and their members.
