Learn to confidently evaluate homes based on their year built and provide expert advice to your clients. Review eras of houses built 10 years at a time starting in 1900 up to present day. Learn about the different styles of houses for each era, how they impacted the landscape of Seattle, and of course what to look for when you tour them.
- Key considerations when evaluating homes from each era.
- Historical and architectural significance.
- Building materials and structural integrity.
This class explores not only the houses built, but the historical context of the lives and experiences of Seattle area residents during each decade.
- Growth from a couple hundred thousand to several million in a hundred years.
- The growth of Snohomish and Pierce County.
- The Alaska Gold Rush.
- The plane that almost bankrupt Boeing- and halted growth in the 1970’s.
- The building of I-5.
All of this with a bit of humor and tons of pictures from 10 years of inspections.
Instructor: Bob Gross is the Market Director for B.P.G. Inspections in the Seattle metro area. He has completed over 2700 inspections.
