13th Annual The REALTORS® Environmental Council
TREC Planting Project
Big Finn Hill Park
The REALTORS® Environmental Council (TREC) volunteers will work to plant native shrubs and trees at Big Finn Hill Park in Kirkland.
Big Fill Hill Park, between Kenmore and Kirkland, is both a 220-acre wooded oasis with 9.5 miles of trails and a park with a range of recreation options. Bisected by Juanita Drive NE, the eastern portion of Big Finn Hill Park has ballfields, a play area, a picnic shelter, and some unpaved trails. The western portion is full of looping trails through the Big Finn Hill forest that connect to a seven-mile trail network within Saint Edward State Park to the northwest.
This site would mostly be some “in-fill” planting for a large restoration site that needs some additional plants by this fall. It has a picnic shelter and permanent bathrooms. Tools and parking available. Lunch will also be provided.
Volunteers must wear:
- Long pants made of sturdy material
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes
- Gloves (provided)
We recommend that you also bring:
- Warm layers
- Rain gear
- Long sleeved shirt
- At least one full water bottle
- Small day pack for water, extra layers, etc…
The REALTORS® Environmental Council
TREC was formed by Seattle King County REALTORS® to bring together REALTORS® and the community in responsible environmental stewardship projects that preserve a healthy, natural habitat to enhance our neighborhoods and our region.
