We mourn the passing of Dahni Malgarini Logar, the 2023 President-elect of Seattle King County REALTORS®. A broker with REMAX Integrity, Dahni suffered a cardiac episode over the President’s Day weekend and was unable to recover. She passed surrounded by family and friends on February 23.

Dahni was a beloved leader in the REALTOR® family. She was recognized as the Association’s REALTOR® of the Year in December of 2022. Upon accepting the award, Dahni reflected that she was perhaps not as deserving as others, but that modesty belies the enduring impact she has had on her colleagues and friends.

Dahni’s work within the organization was comprehensive and always focused on bringing leaders forward. She led by example.  She was a graduate of the Washington REALTOR® Leadership Academy and served on the state Board of Directors, its Executive Committee and as an RPAC Trustee. She was recently named as the Vice Chair of the WR Legislative Steering Committee and as the Association’s Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Adam Smith in the 9th Congressional District.

Dahni was a Board Director for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and served on its Risk Management and Conventional Finance Committees. She was so conscientious in her role and responsibilities at NAR that she rebooked her flight three times and ultimately flew all night to attend national meetings in Orlando during hurricane Nicole in November.

Her influence, however, was greatest when serving on her local Board. She is the only King County President-elect to have served in every vice presidency of the Association. She started her involvement with the Governmental Affairs committee, was appointed to the Board in 2018 and became Vice President elect of Governmental Affairs in 2019 and Vice President in 2020. In 2022 she was Vice President of Business Practices before becoming President-elect in 2023.

2023 President Sharon O’Mahony remembers Dahni for her ability to encourage others. “She was the first person on the Board that I connected with. She made a big effort to take people under her wing and make them feel included. Her devotion to our Realtor family was deep and she will be forever remembered by her genuine smile.”

Board member Gina Madeya characterized Dahni as her early mentor. “One day she pulled me aside and said, “Gina, you need to stay involved in this organization. There’s so much you can contribute. Your energy and passion is contagious and every time you walk in a room you lift my spirits and put a smile on my face!” I hope she knows she had the same impact on me. I am so grateful that she recognized qualities in me that I didn’t even know I had.”

Dahni’s generosity extended beyond borders. This past summer she hosted two Japanese real estate agents in her home as part of our Ambassador Association program. She confided to everyone afterwards that it was the “single best and most rewarding volunteer experience” she had ever had.

In her role as a trustee on the Association’s Scholarship Foundation, Dahni championed the naming of a scholarship in 2023 to honor REALTOR® leader and colleague, Margo Wheeler.

“That act is so typical of her,” said WR Officer and colleague Eddie Chang. “Dahni was a wonderful, sweet, caring leader, making sure everyone is involved. She welcomed everyone into her life and our organization. She was such a bright light to all of us."

Dahni is survived by her husband Pete; their sons Peter, Jake and Sam; sister Bonnie and many extended family. Memorial services are yet to be announced.

The Association plans a remembrance gathering to honor Dahni on a date to be determined. More information will be posted here when available.

Friends and colleagues of Dahni are encouraged to share photos and memories on her picture board. Access, with email login required, can be found HERE.
