Broker event focuses on wins and leadership in uncertain times

September 11, 2025

The latest Broker/Owner Success Summit (BOSS) of Seattle King County REALTORS® on September 10 featured a comprehensive update from the leadership of Washington REALTORS®, as well as a panel of local owners and managers.

President John Blom and CEO Nathan Gorton discussed the key initiatives of the state REALTOR® association and the significant wins achieved during the last legislative session in Olympia. President Blom remarked that the successful effort in keeping the real estate B&O tax at its current level saves the average REALTOR® $300 per year and even more for top producers.

The BOSS summit is designed specifically with designated brokers, managers, and office leaders in mind. The September 10 event was a partnership with the Tacoma Pierce County Association of REALTORS® (TPCAR) for the first time. This South King County location was convenient for brokers in both associations.

“It was a privilege to partner with TPCAR for this event,” said Dan Wingard, VP of Member Services & Communications for SKCR. “We are always looking for ways to extend the conversation and come together to learn and share.”

After the WR presentation, a panel of office leaders from King and Pierce counties shared their tips in keeping agents productive and motivated in a flat real estate market. Pam Ranch of Keller Williams Mountains to Sound, Shy Bundy of John L Scott Renton, and Jenn Hawkins of Hawkins-Poe Real Estate covered topics ranging from education and office culture to business planning and mindset. The conversation was moderated by Jenah Mahan-Williams, broker/owner at Gateway Real Estate and President-Elect of TPCAR.
