Investor, agent, instructor, and home inspector Brandon Brockway-Ring knows a lot about houses. "My first job was cleaning up job sites and helping with basic framing or simple plumbing and electric," he says, giving him a firm foundation for future inspection and building practices. Now Brandon is the owner of Key Inspection Services. In addition to checking the insulation in your attic, he also teaches classes on common issues that can arise in homes.
Check out his series "What's wrong Wednesday?" on Facebook and Instagram.
A little more about Brandon
What is a common misconception you encounter about your field of work? That inspectors are deal-killers! We don't kill deals; we just find the issues in the houses. We don't create the issues. When a foundation is falling apart or sunk 4in down, we didn't create the problem.
We also cannot predict the future. We can say the water heater is brand new, but that is not a guarantee that it won't leak at any time, as an example.
Are you a dog person or a car person? Both
