Affiliate Spotlight: Allison Peryea, Washington State Community Associations Institute (WSCAI)

July 31, 2026
If you've ever brokered a condominium sale, you may already be aware of the Washington State Community Associations Institute. WSCAI is a non-profit organization that provides education, resources, and advocacy for homeowners' associations and condominiums. Members are not just homeowners, but also management staff and other industry partners—these are the people to ask about resale certificates!
Allison Peryea, a partner at Peryea Silver Taylor, is currently serving as the 2026 President of the WSCAI Board of Directors. "We decided to become an Affiliate member with Seattle King County REALTORS® because we are a real estate organization that shares interests with REALTORS®, particularly when it comes to shaping legislation in our state and at the federal level," she explained. "We also want to serve as a resource for REALTORS® with respect to new legislation that applies to property sales."
More about WSCAI
How do you work with REALTORS® and their clients? Our owners and manager members work directly with REALTORS® when buying and selling homes, including with respect to preparing and receiving resale certificates. We can serve as a resource to help REALTORS® understand community association legislation, which continues to evolve, and REALTORS® can assist our members with ensuring homes in our communities maintain value.
What is a common misconception you encounter about your field of work? Public opinion about community associations tends to be very negative. However, it's important to understand that these associations are almost universally run by volunteer board members who simply want the best for their communities. And those boards are supported by managers and business partners who also share that mission.
