Affiliate Spotlight: Ted Butler, Mutual of Omaha

As an Aging in Place Specialist with Mutual of Omaha, Ted Butler spends a lot of time educating REALTORS® around the country about loan programs for retirement-age homeowners. "Many homeowners of the Boomer generation and older do not think they have an option to sell and buy in the current environment," he says. He enjoys helping real estate professionals serve their clients and help them achieve their goals.

A little bit about Ted

What do you enjoy about working in your field? The impact that we bring to an individual's qualify of life and peace of mind in retirement has the greatest meaning for me. And for the REALTORS® I get to work with, helping them sell more homes, higher value homes and placing their clients in an optimized financial setting also brings me joy. Helping others be successful is a reward in itself.

What was your very first job? I worked at a car wash on the corner of Bellevue Way and Main Street!

What is your preferred vacation type? I live on my boat half the time....

If you could work remotely from anywhere in the world, where would you go? Right where I am now: Catalina Island!

What is your favorite local tourist attraction/activity? When I have guests in town, I like to take them to Snoqualmie Falls for a real feel of the PNW, followed by lunch at the Golf Club at Newcastle for one of the best dining views around.
