Seattle King County REALTORS® is proud to recognize Josh Hall of John L. Scott Kent North as the recipient of the 2nd Quarter Good Neighbor Award for his longstanding commitment to supporting children and families through the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation.

As part of the award, a $250 donation has been made to the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation in Josh’s honor, helping further the organization’s mission of supporting pediatric care, child life programs, medical equipment, uncompensated care, and critical services for children and families throughout the region.

For the past decade, Josh has organized and sponsored an annual Toy Drive and Holiday Experience benefiting patients and families at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. What began as a way to give back has grown into a beloved community tradition that now provides more than 800 toys each year to hospitalized children.

Josh’s connection to the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation is deeply personal. “My daughter, who’s turning 15 next week, was born at Tacoma General,” he recounted. “When she was 7 hours old, the doctors came in and said, ‘your daughter needs heart surgery today.’ That still makes me cry. She had surgery at 30 hours old and spent a week at the hospital afterwards.”

Josh and his family benefitted from Foundation services during the hospital stay, including accommodation at the Tree House, a place near the hospital campus for families to stay while children are in treatment. Josh views his continued support of Mary Bridge as a way to express gratitude to the people who cared for his family during one of the most difficult moments in their lives.

“A hospital is a scary place for children to come,” said Lou Ann League, child life coordinator at the hospital. “Toys and activities help to normalize a hospital environment and give kids something fun to do while they have to be here getting the care they so desperately need.”

The annual toy drive led by Josh Hall provides toys for child patients at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and other children in their household during the holiday season, creating moments of joy for families facing difficult circumstances. Parents are invited to select gifts for their children, while many young patients are given the opportunity to “shop” for others, offering a sense of normalcy, generosity, and holiday spirit during challenging times. The Holiday Experience also includes activities such as face painting, games, snacks, and other festive experiences for children and their families.

Tony Lopez, the sales manager at John L. Scott Kent North nominated Josh for the Quarterly Good Neighbor Award. “I found out about what Josh was doing when he asked me if he could store some stuff at the office. I said, ‘No problem,’ but then we kept hauling in tons of toys, so I asked, ‘Where is this all going?’” Tony would like to get his whole office to participate in Josh’s future toy drives.

The Kent North office has another personal connection to the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation. Ashley Napenias, a marketing specialist for the office who attended the check presentation ceremony, received a toy in the hospital for a broken arm when she was 8 years old. “They told me that they had to rebreak my arm, and I had really wanted the cast off for summer. It was heartbreaking, but then they said, ‘Here’s a toy,’ and that helped a lot.” Incidentally, the toy was a pink and cheetah-print Barbie Cat House, and she still has it.

Tony wrote in his nomination form, “Josh turned his gratitude into action. Through his leadership and generosity, he has inspired countless others to give back, creating a lasting impact for families throughout our community.”

Congratulations to Josh Hall on being named a Quarterly Good Neighbor Award winner, and thank you for demonstrating the positive difference REALTORS® make beyond the transaction through service, compassion, and community leadership.
