Seattle King County REALTORS® is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Russell (Russ) Hokanson has been inducted into the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2026 Dr. Almon R. “Bud” Smith AE Leadership Society.

Russ is one of just three association executives nationwide selected for this honor in 2026, recognizing his exceptional leadership, dedicated service, and lasting contributions to the REALTOR® association community.

Throughout his 32-year career as an association executive, including the past 20 years leading Seattle King County REALTORS®, Russ has been a respected leader and mentor at the local, state, and national levels.

His extensive service includes leadership roles on NAR's AE Institute Advisory Board, Leadership Academy Advisory Board, and Strategic Planning Committee, as well as numerous contributions to Washington REALTORS®. A REALTOR® Certified Executive (RCE) and RPAC Hall of Fame member, Russ has also been a dedicated advocate for professional development, mentoring the next generation of association executives and helping strengthen the REALTOR® organization.

“Russ has spent his career making our REALTOR® organization stronger, but what makes his impact so special is the people he’s invested in along the way,” said Cheyenne Gillooly, 2026 President of Seattle King County REALTORS®. “He’s helped shape generations of leaders, and his influence reaches well beyond our association. To see him recognized on a national stage by the colleagues who know and respect his work means so much. I couldn’t be prouder of Russ, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor.”

This national honor is a fitting tribute to Russ's remarkable career as he prepares to retire at the end of 2026. His leadership, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the REALTOR® community have made an enduring impact on SKCR and the industry.

Please join us in congratulating Russ on this well-deserved recognition!
