Four Candidates for the NAR Board of Directors Election

President Garrett Nelson has announced an election on August 13 to fill one available position on the Board of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
Seattle King County REALTORS® is allocated two positions on the NAR Board of Directors. These NAR Directors are elected at the local level and serve two-year terms. The current vacancy is for calendar years 2026 and 2027. NAR Directors attend two national conferences a year and one regional forum.
The Board of Directors of Seattle King County REALTORS®, along with its caucus of WR Directors, will elect the NAR Director by online ballot on August 13.
Three candidates have come forward to run for the NAR Board of Directors.
Candidates for 2026–2027

Molly Haines
I’m a passionate leader and advocate for our industry, with experience across local and state boards, RPAC Major Investor, CDRE® Divorce, American Bar Association member, past YPN Chair. I’m committed to showing up, speaking up, and supporting REALTORS® at the highest level through NAR. I bring confident leadership, positive energy, and a strong track record of results. I connect across generations, speak up with intention, and lean into meaningful conversations. I’m here to support progress, elevate our profession, and represent REALTORS® with integrity.

Chris Lapp
I’ve worked in real estate for 9 years and been a licensed agent for 3. I serve as a Director for Washington REALTORS®, sit on key state and local committees, and am actively involved in YPN at both the local and national level to help shape the future of our industry. I’m seeking this position to help elevate our industry through collaboration, innovation, and advocacy. With my leadership experience, committee work, and deep engagement in YPN, I bring a strong voice, fresh perspective, and a commitment to driving meaningful progress.

Kristi Sundquist
I lead a small team in Seattle and stay deeply involved in industry leadership. With a strong background in housing and construction, I’m passionate about education, regularly teach and mentor agents, and advocate for housing through committee work and political engagement at local and state levels. I am seeking this position because I deeply feel the frustration in our industry every day. With my background in homebuilding, team leadership, and advocacy, I bring practical experience, clear communication, and a solutions-first mindset to begin driving meaningful change at a national level.

Craig Walker
I am a REALTOR® and Broker at KW Bellevue (top 5% production). I currently serve as Senior Faculty and sit on the Board of Directors (ALC) at KW Bellevue, 2025-2027 State Director WA REALTORS®, 2026 VP of Governmental and Public Affairs Seattle King County REALTORS®. The roles mentioned above underscore my deep involvement in our industry at multiple levels including REALTOR® advocacy and public policy. My leadership background along with a passion for advancing our profession, positions me to serve and contribute meaningfully as a director at the national level.

The Role of the NAR Director
The National Association of REALTORS® is a member-driven association. Members of the NAR Board of Directors have duties and responsibilities for governing the association, and the association counts on directors to participate as we deliberate issues that impact our members’ daily business lives.
